The new Preliminary Scan helps GRC professionals, investors, and insurers speed up the initial assessment phase\u2014without replacing compliance requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What the Preliminary Scan Does Without Supplier Consent<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>No-Consent VRM Scanning<\/strong> uses only publicly available infrastructure data to conduct an initial analysis of a company\u2019s external attack surface. Shodan continuously scans the public internet, indexing devices, services, and systems that are directly connected to the internet\u2014no internal systems, no protected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Technically, the scan runs through the existing <strong>analyzeCompany pipeline<\/strong> using the parameter <strong>lightScan=true<\/strong>.
